Tapioca starch is a versatile starch that can improve viscosity, glossiness, stability, and thickness. It is a common ingredient that is used in various industries, especially in the food industry. This starch is used as a thickener in a variety of food applications include meat, dairy, bakery, soups and sauces.
Application
Tapioca starch uses are countless. Starch can be used as a food starch to thicken foodstuffs as well as industrial products. When added in a low to medium pH and medium to high temperatures, the tapioca starch will work optimally.
- Use in gluten free baking recipes, including cakes, breads, muffins and pie crusts. Best in combination with other gluten free flours.
- Fruit pie fillings, and fruit sauces that generate a large amount of juice, like berry, peach, and rhubarb
- Excellent thickener for puddings
- Use as a last minute thickener to correct consistency of hot sauces
